After much discussion, we decided to make most of the screens since we don't actually believe in democracy. It tends to alienate the minority--especially when only a tiny group of conspiring individuals are concentrating the actual power, like Ms. Shoelaces and I. I'm convinced "Too Sexy for 501c3" could swiftly turn oligarchical unless supporters like you learn how to better self advocate so please stop lurking and give us some feedback!

i really like the pie chart image--what it's saying--but why does it have a bow?

i like the third one with the exception of the font for the text, i think it should be different, more positive than imitating the dripping knife.

ReplyDeleteum, i don't get the symbolism with the cloud and the rain. is it acid rain? are there embryo's in the raindrops? is it kinda like having the raindy day blues?
i think the change my world one is friggin adorable and has that golden girls feelgood thing goin on. very nice.
for the murder of the revolutionary vision, i might go with a solid "never", as in, "..will never murder..." since it's so epic. what dyu think of a letter opener instead of a knife. jic, here's a link to a fabrege letter opener that is especially hot:

ReplyDeleteThe pie chart image is supposed to be a pac man eating our lovers, friends and radical vision. The bow isn't so much to signify that the NPIC is run by women (although, that is something I have been exploring lately), but that I wanted to make sure folks could tell it was a pacmac and not just a pie chart.
I like your advise about the other two screens. We have been reworking the font. and there is another image of the rain cloud that might work better.

The rain symbolism is more rainy day blues than acid rain. We are reworking this.
I don't know if I like the letter opener. I sort of want to use that knife from The Golden Child but I can't find a good image for it.

umm...yes the shadow state might be a lil much. have you read that essay in the Incite Anthology, "In The Shadow of the Shadow State."?. Isn't that what it's called? Someone stole my book :(
